IRKED over his family’s alleged failure to deliver the “pulutan” he requested for him and his drinking buddies, a drunk messenger went on a shooting rampage killing his wife, his mother and sister in-law, and wounding a member of the US Marines, in Tondo, Manila Tuesday night.
Manila Police District director Senior Supt. Alejandro Gutierrez identified the suspect as Ronald Cruz, 37, messenger of the Philippine Reclamation Authority.
Cruz’ mother in-law Sinencia Valencia died instantly while his wife Gina and sister in-law Lorie Venturina, all of 1220 A. Masinop Street, Tondo, died while being treated at a hospital.

The wounded US Marine identified as John Walter, 44, was a boyfriend of Venturina. He was hit in the chin.
Case officer SPO1 Gerardo Rivera said prior to the incident, Cruz and some friends were having a drinking spree at the nearby Wagas Street.
The suspect got angry after his family refused to give them the food he requested for him and his friends. Irked he went home and confronted his wife.
At the height of their quarrel, the couple’s eldest child Ralph Geron, told his father to stop making the suspect fume even more.
Seething with anger, Cruz took a gun from a room and fired on the victims in front of his horrified son.
Cruz escaped after the shooting taking with him the weapon used in the killing.
Investigators recovered four empty shells for caliber .9mm pistol. A manhunt was ordered for the suspect’s arrest.
